Princess Diana was known for her heartfelt hospital visits, bringing joy to those in need. However, one visit in 1995 led to a secret love affair that remained hidden for years.

Two months before her infamous Panorama interview, Diana met Dr. Hasnat Khan, a dashing heart surgeon at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Introduced through mutual friends, Diana was instantly drawn to him. Describing him as “drop-dead gorgeous,” she pursued him relentlessly, visiting the hospital almost daily.

Their love flourished in secrecy. Diana used the alias “Dr. Armani” to communicate with Khan, while he snuck into Kensington Palace hidden in a car boot. They shared private moments, from jazz club visits to casual outings at a pub called The Prince of Walesโ€”a name Diana found amusing.

Their romance deepened, and Diana even explored the possibility of marriage, seeking a priest who could wed them despite their religious differences. She visited Khanโ€™s family in Pakistan and considered moving abroad to escape media scrutiny.

Diana introduced Khan to Prince William and Prince Harry, calling him her “Mr. Wonderful.” However, Khan struggled with the intense public attention, ultimately leading to their breakup in July 1997.

A month later, Dianaโ€™s tragic death shocked the world. Khan, heartbroken, attended her funeral and later reflected on their love, calling her “a normal person with great qualities.”

Today, Khan remains a respected heart surgeon, but his love story with Diana remains a poignant reminder of the challenges she faced in her search for happiness.
