Following the catastrophic election loss to former President Donald Trump by Vice President Kamala Harris, Former President Barack Obama issued a statement.

Obama somewhat acknowledged in a statement shared on social media a few factors that led to Harris’s loss.

Obama said, “America has been through a lot over the last few years — from a historic pandemic and price hikes resulting from the epidemic, to rapid change and the feeling a lot of folks have that, no matter how hard they work, treading water is the best they can do.”

“Those circumstances have made life difficult for democratic incumbents all around; last night proved America is not exempt. The good news is that these issues are fixable only if we listen to each other and only if we follow the fundamental constitutional values and democratic traditions that made this nation great, Obama said.

Obama traveled the nation in October to assist Harris’ campaign. Former First Lady Michelle Obama, his wife, also spoke at several functions.

Obama also congrats Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) on their race victories.

On Wednesday, Harris called Trump to accept his candidature for the presidential contest.

Now, Trump’s team has revealed some of what was discussed on the call between the two leaders.

“I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine,” he wrote in a lengthy X post.
